Realism Shmealism
My brother used to be a professional golfer. He wasn't on the Tour or anything, he was a club pro, the guy who teaches old ladies how to swing the club. So when I decided to take up golf recently, naturally, I went to him for lessons.

Unfortunately, one of his lessons is that I should try to play more on real grass than at Top Golf. That artificial turf mat is more forgiving, he says. Its not quite realistic.

But here's the problem: I like Top Golf too much. I'm willing to sacrifice that little bit of realism that will help my game in that small way if it means getting up there and thwacking a ball hard and looking up at my computer screen to see that it went 165 yards, all while drinking good beer and eating good pizza. I didn't take up this game so I can make myself miserable trying and failing to get everything exactly right. I did it so I can do exactly what I do every time I go to Top Golf: have a frickin blast.

RE: Realism Shmealism
.....I don't see how anyone could like Top Golf more than playing a real golf course..

I don't get the logic of liking it more b/c you can look at a computer screen to see how far it went.....

not up for the real challenge?
