My bag has had the same clubs since 1989 (although last week I purchased a replacement bag and a new driver)!!

I just started playing again after a 16-year hiatus from golf. A motorcycle crash in 1994 took the game away from me...I thought permanently (my doctors thought I'd never walk again, let alone play golf)...but fortunately for me the doctors were wrong about that, and after several years of physical therapy and strength training I've regained roughly 95% of my (pre-crash) ability.

The "Golf Bug" bit me again in May of this year when I went back to Scottsdale for my dad's funeral and found my golf clubs in the closet of his den (I assumed my parents had sold those LONG ago in one of the garage sales my mother was so fond of). Upon inspection I found everything in pristine condition (although the copper irons now look dark bronze, and the white "Ping" tour bag is a lot uglier than I remember).

So here's whats in my (new) bag.

Irons: Ping Eye-2 Black Dot Beryllium Copper (3-SW)

Replacement Bag: Sun Mountain C-130

My next additions are a new putter and at least one rescue/hybrid club.

Had heard good things about Buffalo Creek Golf Club in Rockwall, so I booked an 8:00 tee time last week...and the entire course was SOAKING WET!! OK, I realize they have to water the green stuff to keep it green, but come on...isn't that supposed to happen at night/early morning so the course is relatively dry for play?

At tee-off (again 8am, not 6am) we could see the sprinklers still going on the some of the fairways ahead, and most of the bunkers had standing water in them...IN SAND!! We literally sloshed through the low-lying areas of every fairway on the front nine (our shoes were soaked), and the greens were like putting on the artificial turf at Hurricane Harbor...I mean, I've been on slip-n-slides with less standing water!!

For $25.00 a round, I didn't expect TPC Las Colinas...but I also didn't expect to need rain boots for regulation play.

Very disappointed!

I'm getting older and having quite a bit of hip pain after 18-holes, and my glove-hand aches after hitting a large bucket at the driving range. His whole sales pitch claims to teach a pain-free golf swing. Just wondering if the DVD set was worth the $90 he's asking.

I have been asked to cover an amateur golf tournament and I guess I'm getting a little apprehensive. I'm comfortable shooting any sport in a gym, on a field or track, or on the road, but I have zero golf experience. I understand the basics of the game, but I could really use some tips on positioning, etiquette (very exclusive country club), and just generally how to handle covering an unknown number of foursomes on a large course.

Also, when shooting outdoor sports, I usually shoot raw. I just found out they will need the golf photos for a slide show during dinner! I suppose this means shooting .jpg (which I almost never do) and choosing in camera settings (picture style). Any tips on this?

I will probably be using my 1Dmk3 with 300 f/4 with or without 1.4x TC. I also have a 70-200, 28-75, and 19-35 for a few wide shots.

I normally don't take assignments with this much pressure until I have some experience, but I really didn't have a choice this time. Thanks for any tips you have.
